Pets become frightened and frantic from the noise and run off...shelters are accustomed to receiving 4th of July dogs...Plan ahead and take some precautions:
Do not leave your pet in the car.
Keep them indoors at home in a sheltered, quiet area.
If you know your pet is seriously distressed by loud noises consult with your vet for ways to alleviate their discomfort.
Never leave them outside unattended, even in a fenced yard.
Make sure your pets are wearing identification tags so that if they become lost they can be returned promptly.
Hope you and your pet have a safe and happy fourth of July weekend!
Happy DOT!

Well said Fuji & Knittinwolf!
you tell em, sweet Fuji!
Great advice. We'll leave the TV (beside their crate, of course) on when we go to watch fireworks, but these girls don't seem to care much about the "pops" and "thuds" in the distance...
Happy 4th!
pets become frightened--I become frightened too! lol.
