Happy DOT!

"Maybe if I keep staring at Mom, she'll play with me?!!"

"Ok, well I'll watch how many times the wheel goes around...one, two, three, I'm now hypnotized!"

"I will now sit next to Mom and keep those rascally kitties away from the roving...giving Trouble the evil chihuahua eye!!!"

"I'm always near my Mama....try to sit on her lap when she spins, but it's not very comfortable with her knees moving up and down...I'll be content to just be at her side!"

FO and Case....

A spinning FO (finished object)...this was from the alpaca roving I got from Silver Sun Alpaca Ranch when we visited it. It is called under the sea because of the blues and greens. Very pretty, haven't added up the yardage from it yet because I was talking on the phone when I was winding it off my wheel. Seems like a lot though and I double plied it too. Did find lots of bumpy, chunks in it while I was spinning it, don't know if this is from being drum carded or what, but didn't like that in it.

Ordered this cool cell phone case for my phone so I can tell my phone from James'! The pink hearts match my purse too!:) Am so in love with this phone, it's so much fun. Am highly loving the text messaging stuff! Even downloaded a cute app that has little emoticons for texting with...even my cousin went and downloaded it today too! Having so much fun with it! Jimmy has put a lot of games on it for him to play. What are some of your favorite apps????? I have: Todo list; facebook; twitterfon; amazon.com; google; pandora; stitchminder; Bible; Lose it; knitminder lite; hangman; scramble; word warp; words liteu; ipet dogs; iEmoji; eztipcalc; shipping list lite; whiteboard; zippo lighter; 400sounds; aggravation; and lightsaber....then a page of Jimmy games!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Jimmy got me this awesome tree, it has beautiful purple flowers all over it, soooooo pretty! He wanted to get me flowers but didn't want them dying, this will flower every year for me!
Then my boys got me this so I can text my cousins! Although hubby got one too! It's so much fun and does sooooo much! There are so many apps for it, it's unbelievable! I've already gotten the knitting stitch counter which is totally awesome. I can do facebook, twitter, plurk from it. Jimmy's downloaded a bunch of games (we share it)!:)
Having an awesome day...went to church with my cousins family and now am relaxing waiting for my mom to come visit. Hope everyone is having a great day!

Haircut & Bag!

Went and got my haircut and highlighted yesterday. Took about three hours...it takes a long time for the highlights to take affect in my hair for some weird reason. I was going to have some hot fuschia pink put in but she'd ran out of that color the day before..ug, here I had the guts to do it yesterday. This picture strikes me so funny because Fuji and I have the same expression!:)

I told her I wanted it shorter than she has been doing it...the back is actually only 1 inch long, kinda hard to see that in the pic though. I love, love, love it though! It feels so good. I don't think I could go back to ever having long hair again.

My new Hollywood Pink Namaste bag came the day before....I'm so loving it! Love the color (painted my toes to match too), love how it closes completely so its not hanging open even after I've stuffed it with all my stuff, love how it fits on my shoulder and doesn't slip off, just love everything about it! So excited and it makes me smile when I look at it! Did not feel this way at all about the Zuma bag, going to sell it on Ravelry soon when I get around to it.

Got an early Mother's Day gift yesterday too but that'll have to wait till tomorrow!:)

New Books!!!

My new books I ordered from Amazon came today..all except for one which is being shipped separately. Of course I started a new book last night so will have to wait to get started on these ones!
A Fine Fleece by Lisa Lloyd is knitting with handspun yarns and has 26 patterns in it. Just a beautiful book too, the photography in it is phenomenal!
The Intentional Spinner by Judith MacKenzie McCuin. It has technical knowledge, history, practical information, step by step instructions and four projects showing the fiber to finishing.
Summer on Blossom Street by Debbie Macomber. She is one of my favorite authors and love her series on a fictional knitting store and its patrons. This is the fourth in the series.
From Dead to Worse by Charlaine Harris. This is the eighth book in her Sookie Stackhouse series. There is also a series on HBO called True Blood based on these books. They'll soon be coming out on Netflix so I can watch them! I waited for this to come out in paperback so it'd match my other ones...having to wait on the ninth for the same reason.
Summer of Fire by Linda Jacobs. The scene of this book is based in the Yellowstone National Park and its on fire....the main character is a fire fighter that just witnessed her best friend die in a fire..the other is a Vietnam vet looking for a good time...Ranger Steve is scarred by the loss of his wife and baby in a plane crash...
Rain of Fire by Linda Jacobs. This is also based in Yellowstone National Park. It's about the largest volcano and geologist Kyle Stone is monitoring it as well as a Ranger and a volcanologist whom is her former love. More than the volcano is heating up in this novel!
Can't wait to get started on them!:)

Busy Weekend...

Saturday Jimmy and I went to the Webkinz Extravaganza at the candle shop. Jimmy won a black and white plush cat playing a game and three other ones because I purchased some candles. Then we went mother's day shopping together. James went garage selling and worked on the sprinklers in the front of the east part of the house. Had some gift certificates at Amazon so ordered some books..a couple of spinning books, Charlaine Harris book, the new Debbie Macomber, and a series of books based on the Yellowstone National Park. I love getting new books! Can't wait for them to come. I was told about another great series yesterday by a gal on Ravelry...its called Outlander...let me know if you've read it and how you liked it. I went and put it in my Amazon wish list to order next time when I get more certificates in the mail! I think there are nine in the series.
Sunday I was busy watering all the trees, plants and orchard. Had a little sundress on and forgot to put sunblock on so my arms, chest, and neck are lobster red and sore. Did laundry and ironing and made chocolate chip cookies. Also crocheted a little on some gifts I'm working on.:) Jimmy was busy playing outside and found nature shows on netflix he can watch. Came and told us all about a certain bird and its ways, little does he know the education he's getting from it!:) James finished up the sprinklers on that one side of the house. Our front yard is about an acre in front of the house so doing it in manageable sections. Next weekend we will be planting the grass and working on the flower bed area with sprinklers! Oooh, I did buy a new Namaste Newport bag in Hollywood Pink because Woolgirl was having a big sale...can't wait to get it because I'm not liking the Zuma one I got at all and will be selling it on Ravelry soon.

Woolgirl Kit #2

This second Woolgirl Sock Club kit was based on Kinsale, Ireland. Included in it:

1 skein of Wasonga 100% superwash merino sock yarn from Curious Creek Fibers in the colorway Old Head of Kinsale. A sock pattern by Anne Hanson and a cowl pattern by Lisa Dykstra. A lovely tea inspired stitch marker designed by Sunneshine Stitch Markers. A huge knitting tote with the Woolgirl Sock Club logo on it with lots of compartments. A teapot tape measure which is super cute; a teapot notepad; a sheep shortbread cookie; an Ireland hand made card and a mini suitcase with to miniature sheep. These kits are always so much fun to open...a little like opening a Christmas gift! The yarn is super soft too, can't wait to use it!:)
