Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween Everyone!
Have fun and carve a virtual pumpkin!
Jimmy and I are going to run some errands and then come home and have some Halloweeny fun...going to watch It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown; carve pumpkins; have some pumpkin cream pie tea with chocolate chip pumpkin cookies; and some crafts. Then tonight is trick-or-treating...this is the first year Jimmy isn't sick for Halloween! Yeah! What fun are you all doing? Have a safe, fabulous time!
I'm all caught up on the Mystery Beret KAL! Can't wait for the next part!

Mystery Beret KAL

Finished my Butterfly Lace Cloth....love this color, and quite a fun pattern.
I have almost five inches on my Loppem. This has to be done with no tv or distractions because of the charting. Can't be tired either or all the little dots start blurring together and who knows what it'd look like then.
Also started a Mystery Beret Knit A Long with my buddy, Dawn. The designer posts pieces of the pattern in regular intervals until its done on a group board on Ravelry. Its a mystery until its finished! A fun, quick project! I'm using Dark Horse Yarn, Fantasy in a country blue with size 7 circular needles. I bought this yarn when our local yarn store was closing and so far its quite nice. Very soft and hopefully will show the pattern well. Gotta go knit on it so I can catch up to Dawn! Did vacuum, do laundry, teach school and iron today too...what fun! TTFN!

Harvest Time...

Lady at my hubby's work sent these to me...yummy persimmons! So sweet of her. She sent me some Jujube's last week which were scrumptious! These persimmons will make somebody :) the best cookies! MMMMM can just smell them now!

My Dad grew these pumpkins in his garden for Jimmy this year! Going to carve them on Friday as we watch The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown! The one round one is just perfectly round! Very cool...I just love pumpkins. Pumpkin tea, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin spice candle, pumpkin lotion...you get what I mean! Even Cinderella's coach was a pumpkin!:)

Then my grandma has pomegranate trees and sent these to me. Thinking on making some jelly with these. Can't wait for our trees to get big and make fruit! Shoot this post could of been called "What starts with the letter P?"
Went to my favorite tea room today and bought some Creme Brulee and Pumpkin Creme Pie tea...so yummy..plus some cool stir sticks that has the rock candy on it. Also got a cute sugar cube server to go with my tea set. Also bought the Twilight book at Walmart, everybody is saying its so good so had to get it and see. Off to have me a spot of tea! Cheerio!

Pedi Paw!

Finally bought this Pedi Paws thing I've been seeing on TV! It's the coolest thing for your pets. The last time I trimmed Fuji's nails I accidentally hit the quick and she yelped and bled. I freaked out because I'd hurt her and cried along with her. I said I'd never do that to her again. Saw this commercial and said I have to get that...while I was at the beauty supply store they had them and got us one. It is just like the commercial...its fast, easy and most of all gentle. Showed it to her and turned it on so she can see it was going to make noise and this is the response I got....

Just kidding....she's really yawning in this pic! It was just the perfect expression for this! No pets were harmed during this blog post!:) Gave her a treat for not freaking out and the next day we tried it, she was perfectly calm and enjoyed her pedi treatment! No more tears!

The Boys are Back!

My Dad and Jimmy with some of their catch!
They had a blast!
Look at what else Jimmy caught...a crawfish!
The even brought it home to show me. They dug is out of the cooler filled with ice and brought it into the kitchen so I could see it really well. I looked in the bag they had it in and the thing moved! I said, "IT'S ALIVE!" Of course, you know me, I immediately through it in the kitchen sink with water and he started moving around. Jimmy caught this on Friday...they thought it was dead! So now we have a new pet...his name is General Grievous!

The boys loved my hair too. Whew! I've been doing laundry all day. Did crochet again this morning during I Love Lucy. I made yummy, scrumptious Apple Butterscotch bars today and knit a little bit on the cardigan. One row takes me 15 minutes! This is going to take awhile! So love this merino/silk yarn! I'm even doing TaeBo again! Feels so good to be feeling well!
So nice to have the boys home. James worked on the forest today and put a drip system on it...thank goodness, that will cut my watering time in half!

Progress...

Had a great day today! Got up and made a cup of tea, watched I Love Lucy for an hour and crocheted on the baby blanket. Showered and about freaked when I started washing my hair and it wasn't there no more!:) Boy was it quicker to wash! So love it! Did some school reporting stuff, swim meet entries and listed my cut off ponytail on a website to sell it. I've been hearing some bad things about certain hair charities so thought I'd sell it and donate the money to a cancer organization. Watered my forest which takes about two hours and then came in and knit for a bit. Took a little nap then got up and knit some more with a cup of Japanese Cherry Blossom tea. Made some yummy Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookies and am knitting some more on my cardigan. The boys are having a great time fishing too! They'll be home tomorrow...missing them!:)

New Do!

The boys went off fishing today and I went off to get a new do!
10in. whacked off! I couldn't look as she sawed it off!
So love it! It feels so much lighter! I'll have to go weigh myself
because I'm sure that was at least 5lbs.!:)
Boy, it's hard to take a picture of yourself!

This is the pic to show the back! Had so much fun!
The stylist was soooo nice and fun!
Bought a lot of "products" too...just had to have them!
I did weigh myself this morning and have lost 3lbs.! whoohoo
Guess the swimming is working! 27 more lbs. to go!

Cherry Blossom Kit!

Received my Woolgirl Sock Club kit yesterday....Wow wee what an awesome one it was too! The theme is Cherry Blossom which is Japan's unofficial national flower. The kit includes:
1 skein of the gorgeous Plum Blossom colorway dyed by Jessie from Yarntini; sock pattern designed by Gardiner Yarn Works; cherry blossom themed Woolgirl Sock Club notepad that has a sturdy cover and a pen; a packet of Cherry Blossom Tea (enough for six cups); a mesh tea ball and a sugar stick to have with the tea; a beautiful gift box by Biggs and Featherbelle which includes Cherry Blossom scented body butter bar and a body soak (smells sooooo good, you could smell it when you opened the box)! A lovely stitch marker that matches the yarn from White Oak Studios. Beautifully done package! All the Woolgirl kits are a blast to open...feels like Christmas every time! Going to pamper myself this weekend when the boys go fishing and use the body butter/soak with a cup of tea....shoot might even cast on the sock as I soak! :) There is going to be lots of knitting going on this weekend by george, even if I have to duct tape myself to a chair! I'm not going to get distracted doing something else...although I do want to make some pumpkin cookies and some butterscotch apple bars...but I can knit in between!

Buttons & Cotton!

Buttons I bought from Joann's! One of these will be for the Loppem cardigan I'm going to do. The teapots were bought just because I had to have them because they were so cute! Also got the cotton (below). I never put this in my stash on Ravelry because I use it too quick to add it, plus its not really a stash yarn!:) Also bought Jimmy some Shrinky Dinks ( I remember doing these and they were so much fun), Foam Flier kit, and a fleece no sew tiger blanket that he's going to work on. We also got some stuff to make some Christmas gifts which can't be posted!

Went to the dentist first thing...gave me the a-ok said everything looks good and that the lump under my jaw will naturally go away. Then went to Walmart to get Jimmy's school pics...not open so went to Joann's to get buttons. Came out with a lot more than buttons! Also got a cute turkey that sits on a shelf!:) Gobble, gobble! Then went back to Walmart and Jimmy smiled the cutest smile (because I made him laugh). That task accomplished and will be able to pick them up on November 5! Then went to American Greetings and got some Christmas gifts there and Jimmy also got a new Webkinz and a jacket for it.....then Petsmart to get Fuji food and bought her a stuffed pumpkin which she loves. So much running around...missed swimming because we got back home too late but had to water the forest anyways! Jimmy didn't even go swimming because his legs were walked off! James was a doll and brought home Panda Express...yummmm. He also stopped by Harbor Freight and got some big, stainless steel stock pots for us to make soap sometime. Hopefully sometime soon!:) Well, off to start another day....

Chinese Waves Cloth!

Finished this cloth last night...love this pattern, very relaxing and an enjoyable knit. Makes a wonderful spa'ish (yes, new word) cloth! Also I finally tweaked around with my blog so you will notice changes in the side. Yes, Dawn, I finally got around to it! Whats funny is I want to cast on for more projects because of the progress bars! I know I'm behind in my socks, maybe I'll cast on for that, and another dishcloth...hee hee, then I'll have two more progress bars! Also figured out on Ravelry how to add the cute cups of tea, cake, pizza etc. to posts and messages! I'm learnin' this computer stuff! I'll have to go to work with my honey! I don't see how he can look at that coding stuff all day, it makes my eyes cross!

Off to get ready for another dental visit...they're supposed to check and make sure my jaw/tooth isn't infected anymore. Also need to take Jimmy to get some school pictures taken...we'll see about that one! Dentist might be enough of an outing for me today! It seems everyone is having root canals lately....Jeanne, Me, my Mom, my Grandma, Jimmy's coach, Tammy.....Very strange!

Trees

This is a pic of all the trees/bushes we bought that I mentioned in the previous post. The last row by the house is the bushes but the trees are blocking them. Rows and rows and rows! Lots of watering for me!

The place where we bought the trees the lady emailed me this pic yesterday...she came home and look at what she found? A baby! Isn't she/he beautiful?! To bad we didn't get to see this! Just want to give it some lovin'! So sweet!

I made a yummy Apple Cinnamon Upside Down Cake yesterday with some of the apples we picked...yummmy! Did a gauge swatch on the new yarn too but thats as far as I got! I really hate doing those too...then I'd noticed the needles I was using had little teeth marks...grrrrr! Have to use a different set when I start the cardigan otherwise it'll pick the yarn! With the boys going fishing this weekend I can hopefully rest and do some knittin'! Gotta go back to the dentist tomorrow to have them check my mouth...oh joy! It is feeling better though so thats a good thing!

Apple Valley Fun!

We've been making lots of trips to Apple Valley/Lucerne this week. We bought a forest! Just kidding! We bought a bunch of trees/bushes/pots/drip system etc. from a wonderful lady in Lucerne Valley. I'll post a pic later of all the trees. We had so much fun at her house. Those are her llamas...she has 45! They're magnificent creatures...temperament of a cat, they'll sniff you but you don't sniff them!:) Jimmy helped her with feeding them too!

They really didn't care to be hand fed, but Jimmy was determined to try!:) She also has a ton of chickens/chicks which we had a blast watching and trying to pet! Among her furry family was also four sweet dogs and a parrot! She also had four huge apple trees and offered to let us pick some. I think for every couple apples Jimmy picked he ate one! I've never seen this kid eat so much fruit!:) She also gave us some yummy, juicy pears and some farm fresh eggs! Yup, you can guess what I'm going to do today...apple butterscotch bars, apple spice cake....She's the nicest lady and we'll have to keep in touch. Big hugs to her!:)

Bet you're wondering how the yarn pic fits into this....well you know me if we're going for a drive I punch into Knitmap to find the yarn stores. Found an awesome one its called Fanciwerks Yarn Shoppe (21810 Highway 18, Unit 10 Apple Valley, CA 92307). Think I will consider this my favorite local yarn store. Huge, I mean huge selection, lots of samples, super duper people working...I was in fiber heaven! Did I remember to take pics? NO, and I even had it with me! I was too busy touching and oohing and aahing! Found this cardigan pattern and just had to have it. Also got this yummy yarn in a gorgeous shade of green! The green is a reminder of all the beautiful trees we got there! Good excuse huh? hee hee! And guess what everything in the store was 25% off! Did I time this visit right or what! Can't wait to go back!

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Charlie Brown Fall Kit!

My Woolgirl, Charlie Brown Fall Kit, came yesterday in the mail. I'd forgot I'd ordered it...super surprise! I just love Fall....the pumpkins, crisp air, the changing leaves, knitting by the fire, the colors, the smell of something baking, warm cup of herbal tea...love it all! This kit came with an adorable Charlie Brown Fall boxy knitting accessory bag ( I love this bag sooooo much ); a set of Fall cards, a bag of Fall chocolates, and some yummy sock yarn! The yarn is sport weight Miss Babs dyed to match the cute bags! Such pretty colors!:)

Went back to the dentist yesterday because my jaw is throbbing and swollen...its infected and was given antibiotics....UG! Hopefully I can handle this medication and get rid of the infection before it bugs my tummy! Haven't swam in four days...I have to today!:)

Froggin' Socks!

Whoohoo, my Froggin' socks are finally finished! These are just perfect because Jimmy's team is the Frogs and their colors are orange/black! Plus for knitters froggin' is when you have to rip out your knitting...rip it rip it, sounds like a frog. FROG also means Fully Rely On God! Would like to see this pattern on some plain yarn so you could actually see all the work in it but these are really cool!

Downey Swim Meet!

Jimmy had an awesome meet with his new team....FROG AQUATICS! He dropped his time on every event! 50 Breaststroke he dropped 4 seconds; 50 Butterfly 49 seconds off; 100 Freestyle dropped 4 seconds; 100 Breaststroke 40 seconds off; 50 Freestyle 6 seconds off. Did such an amazing job! So much time taken off his previous ones! Whoohoo!

Jimmy's Coaches: Marissa & Mike....me on the side!:)
Made the coaches those hats on Friday night so they'd have them for the meet!

Snail Mail!

Received this beautiful dishcloth in the mail today from Grace. She'd had a contest on one of her posts and sent this from it! Thanks so much Grace!
Finally received my chocolate mint plant in the mail that we'd ordered off of ebay. Looks a little haggard but mmmmmm the smell, smells just like the ice cream, soooo yummy. It'll snap out of it in a couple of days. Think it was in the mailman's car for awhile.:(
Mouth is still in pain and swollen...salt water is my friend! Went ahead and went swimming though today because I got new fins and hand paddles. Hand paddles were ok, tough but ok. The fins on the other hand about killed me and thought the lifeguard was actually going to have to wake up and jump in. I got such cramps in my ankles and toes that wouldn't go away. At least I'd already done over 20 laps because it took at least 15 minutes to ease the cramps. Now I'm limping cuz its still twitchy. Would never think swimming is such a rough sport huh?! Went on and did another 35 laps, don't know if I'll use them ole flippers again!

Yummy Trees!

Bought a couple of new trees this weekend. Can you guess what it is? TN Dawn should know!:) It grows yummy orange/red fruit...makes yummy cookies and bread....persimmon trees! Hopefully will have our own persimmons by next year. Got two different Asian varieties of them. Also bought 8 more honeysuckle plants.
Horrible, excruciating dental visit yesterday. He worked on me for over an hour and a half! My jaws are so sore from open/shut/open/shut. Was just supposed to have simple crowns installed. First the girl couldn't get the temporaries off...had to get the dentist and I about squirmed out of the chair, so he had to numb me up. Redheads don't numb easily...we have to be numbed like a horse! So they get it numb and get the temporaries off. Then comes the fitting of the new crowns (of course these are in the very back of my mouth). I guess I have a deep bite like a pit bull so they had to keep fixing it over and over and over. The girl couldn't get it right so had to go get the dentist again. He filed, sawed, and worked it and finally got it done. Although during this time I came un-numb, oh joy. My gums are so torn up, swollen and sore they gave me a special rinse that about gags the crap out of you. Lucky me! I think I'll stick with salt water, I about puked rinsing with that other stuff. Thank God for advil! One good thing my sinuses no longer hurt, too much pain in my mouth to notice if my head is hurting!:) Didn't swim last night, kind of hard being numb lip and have drool pooling out your mouth into the pool, kind of disgusting! Not going to go today either, don't want germs floating into my mouth, my luck I'd get some foreign thingy in there! Gotta get back to teachin' school....Tootles!

Baby Blanket for 1 Twin!

Finished one of the baby blankets for the guy who works for my hubby's twins. Started the other one too. With twins I know they'll come early so I need to start really getting these done. Also did a little on my Froggin' sock. Didn't do much but rest this weekend because trying to kick this cold/sinus thing. Have to get well before next weekend because Jimmy has a swim meet! Have a dentist appt. today to get my crowns put in, yes that was plural, two of them! Sure hope this doesn't hurt. Have a great day!

It's Raining...it's pouring...

It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring!
Yeah, we're finally getting some rain, and the ground is even getting wet!
Can you tell we're not used to it!:)

Made some pink chemo hats for Breast Cancer Awareness Month! My friend, Jeanne, got a cool pink extension in her hair...still trying to find someone around here that'll do it for me! Maybe we should just dye our hair pink!:) Think I'm fighting off a cold...have had a sore throat and a little stuffy nose. Taking it easy today and crocheting. I'm going to finish one of these baby blankets and my froggin' socks before I start anything else! Although I'm really wanting to cast on for the Gretel hat and my Mr. Greenjeans cardigan...no I'm going to refrain myself!:) Have a great weekend! Don't forget to Think Pink!:)

Chi wa wa! :)

Jimmy and I went to see the movie Beverly Hill's Chihuahua...it was so good! It is now my favorite movie..can't wait for it to come out on DVD so I can watch it over and over!
The plot is: While on vacation in Mexico, Chloe, a ritzy Beverly Hills chihuahua, finds herself lost and in need of assistance in order to get back home.
Going to go give my Fuji a smooch and lots of lovin'! I think she is need of a bikini!:) She hates wearing clothes though...she has a whole drawer full too! So love the movie though...go see it!:)

Breast Cancer Awareness!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness!
There are many wonderful organizations...National Breast Cancer Awareness has tons of info. This month is to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention and cure. Breast cancer is the second most common type of cancer after lung cancer in both women and men. Show your support this month! There’s a song by Tim McGraw that really hits home, called, “Live Like You Were Dying”–it talks about how to look for a more positive attitude in the face of a terminal illness. Although it might make you cry, when you hear it I hope it makes you think of hope. There is so much to offer these days in modern medical miracles… Treatments are progressing and modern medicine is slowly advancing for a cure. Keep believing...
I planted daffodil bulbs yesterday (cancer flower) and some iris bulbs and different kinds of tulips. Going to go make some pink chemo hats! Say a prayer for those going through this or who've been through it. Mary Jane and Sindia I'm thinking of you!:) hugs
