Dawn's Lapghans!

Received these two beautiful lapghans yesterday from TN Dawn! They are so soft and cuddly! Its been really fun seeing all these blankets come....can't wait to hand them out!:) Dawn's mom has recently found out that her cancer has returned, please lift her up in your prayers! Praying they have found it early so they can treat it and she can be free of this dreaded, horrible disease!

Had a 4.4 earthquake this morning at 4:04am....we didn't feel it but the dogs woke up and starting barking....

Knees are doing better as long as I'm not on them for too long.....have to remember to still rest and take it easy :(! On the agenda for today: school, swim, make boxes, knit....American Idol tonight! Also on the second season of Dexter....love this show!

Donated blankets....

Three of these blankets were donated by familydiva, the above two and the dusty rose one below. The green/tan was done by knittingtrucker and the bottom left square was done by maryjo. Love receiving these in the mail...so beautiful!

Hi Blog Buddies!

As some of you may know my grandma had to be put into a nursing home a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been visiting her a lot and have noticed so many people up there are just abandoned, no family comes to visit, no friends……so I was thinking of making some lapghans for them. Its a little thing that will mean so much to them and be very useful when they are in their wheelchairs, brighten their beds, and to just show them that there are people who care. My son is knitting one and I just completed one last night and starting another.

I thought I’d turn this into a contest in order to be able to provide them with more than what I can do. I’m going to run this until April 1 where I will use the random number generator to pick three winners….everyone will receive a special thank you from us just for participating. First place will be a Deluxe Wolfe Farms gift basket…Second place will be your choice of four herbal soaps….and third will be soap/lotion set.

The lapghans need to be in washable materials. Approximately 32 x 37 inches. Knit/Crocheted/Weaved. Every lapghan will be an entry. You can pm me on rav for my home address or send it to:

Halloween Fun!

Halloween morning....love that bed head Jimmy!:)

Yeah, Fuji got a pumpkin plush! She ran around and around the couch and got all spazzy! Was toooo funny!

Had a great day...ordered pizza, wings, quepoppas, and cinnamon sticks for dinner.

Jimmy chose to just chill out instead of trick-or-treating this year.

Got some awesome packages in the mail yesterday!

The first one is from Holly. She had this wonderful contest on her blog...I entered a few times and I won. It's a beautiful, weighted spindle; an awesome book I can't wait to read, and a bunch of roving...beautiful rovings to work with. Yes, I've already started spinning with it and it works fabulous. After I finish this post gonna go spin some more!:)

Sydney from Knaked Knits podcast had this contest....

I sent her twelve hats and was one of the four winners...I received this yummy, lace weight malabrigo in forest green. Love this yarn and it works up wonderfully. Have to find a real pretty scarf to make with it. Awesome color too!
