Finished Objects!!

Padfoot socks are done! Love this pattern and will definitely knit it again!
Have no idea how I got that funky grey border thingy on the pic?
Made this wee tiny sweater for the LYS...they have a display of mini sweaters. I knit it on size 3 dpn's with my handspun. Turned out so cute that I might need to make one to hang on the outside of my purse!

Our main computer isn't running Jimmy's pc games, we've gone through three video cards...ordered a new computer yesterday........geez its going to be a week of whiny child! Told him he could always knit with me! He sure frowned at that!:) Going to send him fishing this weekend with my Dad and James! I see lots of knitting and relaxing this coming weekend! Might even get to finish watching all the extras on my New Moon dvd!

Padfoot Sock....

Working on the Padfoot Sock pattern designed by Natalie Rush (Barknknit)! The Padfoot socks pattern was inspired by the character Sirius Black in the Harry Potter book series by J.K. Rowling . Sirius Black is a wizard who turns into a Dog and also happens to be my (Natalie's) favorite character.
I haven't knit a pair of socks in seven months! Think I only knit two pairs last year! I'm doing these with Fiberphiles Super Squish in Blackberry Expresso, lovely yarn to work with! I started a knit-a-long on the Barknknit Podcast group on Ravelry so if you wanna come share please do! Loving this pattern...simple but yet keeps your interest!:)
My knees are feeling better...not well but better!:) I can get up and do a few things then need to sit and rest them but at least there is improvement!:) Hopefully will get to knit night this week!

Sugar & Spice!

Wee Tiny Sugar & Spice Sock!

Wee Tiny Sock Club - February 2010!

This is a toe-up construction that starts with a provisional cast-on for a short row toe. Gusset increases and flap heel. The leg is worked in ribbing and the ruffles are knit inside the sock...when its complete the ruffles show on the outside....be interesting to see how this works! Will knit this up as soon as I'm finished with my Ravelympic project!

Kit includes: Beyond Basics Knits Prima Superwash Sock; stitch markers; heart pencil; Valentine card; heart notepad; conversation heart candies; pattern.

My last mini sock (the red oriental one) won the photo contest on the Ravelry boards and I received the adorable oriental coin purse. It had a Ghirardelli candy in it (which Jimmy ate right away), stickers and some change! Very pretty! Think it will be perfect to hold all my stitch markers!:)

We are official YMCA members now...signed up yesterday while Jimmy was swimming. I'm taking time off to ice my knee and we'll see how it feels next week....then I will start off slowly!:) As I was filling out paperwork looked up and saw Nicole (FreckleFaceFibers) and Juanita (jdheyerman) on the treadmills, which was awesome! Now I just need to run into Jeanine (msdiva)!! Everyone there is so nice and its soooo clean! Loving it!

Wee Tiny Lucky Sock!

Received my January Wee Tiny Sock kit on Saturday.
ShibuiKnits Silk Cloud (60% Mohair and 40% silk)...which was a pain to knit with...like knitting with nose hair! This started at the cuff knitting back and forth instead of in the round...then joins at the ankle, a short row heel, wedge toe and the beads are sewn on the leg to seam it closed. The colorway is "Chinese Red" and reminded the designer of Chinese spring festival. Red is lucky because it is thought to scare away evil spirits. The kit included 8 beads because 8 is associated with wealth (I only used six because they broke when threading them.) Kit included chop sticks, Chinese hard candy, beads, yarn, and Chinese calender.

My finished sock!

Tiny Solar Sock!

Worked on my Wee Tiny Solar Sock this weekend so I could get it entered into the groups contest thread on Ravelry. It had really odd construction. You started with an i-cord heel....moved on to the gussets...did the foot/toe (I really dislike two color knitting, too fussy)...then the leg. I'm so glad this was a teeny sock because I definitely would of had second sock syndrome. It was done with Dream in Color Starry which was nice, no splitting or anything negative. Don't know if I care for the silver bits in it though...Hope you all had a great weekend!

Wee Tiny Sock Club!

As a member of the Winter 2009-2010 Wee Tiny Sock Club, you will receive a package in the mail each month this winter, December, January and February.
Each package will be based around a different winter theme, and will contain:
An original creative wee tiny sock pattern
A taste of yummy hand-dyed sock yarn, plenty to knit the wee tiny sock
All notions needed to complete the pattern - for example, beads and beading needle would be provided if needed, so you don't have to run out for extra supplies. Stitch markers that coordinate with the theme surprise goodies!
Signed up for this today...can't wait, it sounds like so much fun and the wee socks are soooo cute!
The AVC craft fair went great yesterday and got to chat and hang out with a bunch of Ravelers! Loved the looks on peoples faces as Brian was spinning on a drop spindle! Even got to meet a raveler I've only spoken to on the computer! Very cool! Now its time to restock again and get ready for the next show on December 5!

Beach Ball Monkey's

My monkey socks that have been marinating in my purse are now finished! whoo hoo!
The yarn was a Woolgirl kit colorway called Beach Ball...think it was Madelintosh but can't find the band. Think this pattern would look better on a semi solid but still love them. I'm thinking on getting those clear converse tennis shoes so they'll show my socks good. I hate the clear clogs I have because its a sauna on the feet. I've even drilled holes in them and they still steam up! I wish Crocs would make a clear pair...love me some Crocs!:)
Went to the knitting meeting yesterday and had a great time. I worked on my drop stitch scarf, love this pattern, so relaxing and a non thinker! Finally got to meet Lorena in person...we've only talked on twitter or ravelry and always miss each other at meets! Came home from the meet and made carrot cake, cinnamon spice, and cafe vienna soap...they smell sooo good! One more week before we start school.....

Works in Progress....

On the hook I'm working on a cowgirl hat out of the Happy Hooker book. Also have the mystery shawl crochet along on a hook but haven't worked on it at all.
On the needles I have a monkey sock out of the beach ball colorway from a Woolgirl club shipment. I keep this in my purse so it doesn't get much done on it.

My first Iris of the year!

Peppermint Patty Socks Finished!

Yeah, I'm finally finished with the Peppermint Patty socks!
Every four stitches was a cable, which made it take longer...especially with this horribly, splitty, tangly yarn. This is the yarn that hubby had to help me for thirty minutes to untangle and re-ball and make me a mini swift to hold it, just so I could knit them! I will never do this pattern again, nor use this yarn.
Today we're doing school...laundry, changing beds and packing for our trip to Cambria. So excited because we're going to an alpaca farm...I get to go to a new yarn store I haven't been to...get to try some wheels at another store...get to knit/lunch with Alana....lots of fun stuff. I'll try to update the blog if I can pry the laptop from hubby and son!:)

FO Friday!

Fuji says "Namaste!"

Yoga socks are finished!
Haven't used them yet because haven't felt well from all the dental work.

Two Crocheted Chemo Hats with roses on them for the Hearts of Love group.

And finished the Valentine cloth!
Lots coming off the needles...I'm sure lots will be going on!
Still on the needles: Dream in Color Shrug and Peppermint Patty sock!
Might wind the Malabrigo I got the other day and start the cowl and scarf! Oh and I want to start crocheting that blanket that I bought the Vanna yarn for....we'll see!

For the non-knitters who read my blog...FO is not a bad word, it means Finished Object!:)

First FO's of the Year....

Crocheted Swirl Cap....been wanting to make a newsboy cap...really easy and fun!
Found the cute pewter heart buttons at JoAnn's the other day...perfect Valentine hat!
Easy Crochet Dishcloth...crocheted this yesterday while Jimmy was taking his math and history test. Needs to be a smidgen bigger though....next time!

Finally finished one of the Peppermint Patty socks....had to rip it out the first time because it wasn't long enough. I was/am worrying about having enough for the second sock but this weighed 40gms. and I have 75gms on the ball...I guess looks are deceiving. Every fourth stitch is a cable so this is taking quite a long time especially since its on size 1 needles!
