Meeting!

Isn't this the yummiest yarn you ever did see? The leader of our pack...wants to turn me into a Malabrigo junkie!:) She's the sweetest lil' lady! The colors are so dramatic and striking...just love this stuff. I petted it all night and snuggled with it! Thanks Darcy you're the greatest and we have cookies tooo!:) Had a blast at our meeting....Darcy brought her clapotis, Dolores knitted on her clap :), Susan learned how to do magic loop from Robin who's doing two socks on magic loop method, Jackie was working on a dishcloth, and yours truly did two rows on my shawl and messed up my sock while I was there! When I got home I figured out I was knitting backwards on my sock! Duh, ribbit, ribbit...guess that what happens when ya talk to much! Naw, just need to take a project thats a no brainer!:) We had such a great time and so much laughing! We also had a wonderful show and tell time! Susan had made some really cool wrist warmers and an adorable baby bunting that looks like a tuxedo. Robin brought an awesome scarf/wrap kit she bought at Stitches...looks very hard...lots of concentrating...not a project for meeting times!:) Jackie had a bright malabrigo scarf she'd made...love that malabrigo! Darcy had a beautiful, silk, clapotis scarf she was sporting. Can't wait to see what everyone brings to share at the next meeting! What a great, light hearted group!

Spring Things!

TN Dawn...this one's for you! I told you I needed to start knitting with my toes because of all the projects I got going and want to do. The ultimate in multi-tasking! Guess I should of done toe-ups...haha! Glad I didn't get a cramp doing this pic!:)

Started the Spring Things Shawl too...still need some beads. Did the first chart once. I can't do this at night at all because the yarn is dark on these knitpicks needles and the yarn is the size of thread and hairy! I don't think I'd ever want to work with mohair again. It catches onto everything. Its looking pretty though! Tomorrow is our knit meeting...don't know yet what I'm going to work on...probably the socks!

Had to go the the dentist today because I was chewing on Double Bubble (grape Dawn!) and was folding clothes and I felt my crown lift off! Ugh! Was scared they'd have to do more work but all they had to do was re-cement it...whew!:) Gonna go knit on my Valentine sock two! Still congested but at least now I can breathe through my nose some! Progress, whohoo!

Still Snotty!

Still snotty with a cold...now hubby has it too. Jimmy's all better though!:) Been doing a little knitting on the forest canopy shawl...I'm now on the edging...that is if I don't have to frog Frog out some of the repeats I put in! There are sooooo many projects I want to do and with Ravelry I keep finding more and more! Knotty Knitter meeting is this Sunday at Panera Bread ...sure hope I'm feeling well to attend. Love seeing what other knitter/crocheters are working on. Its also fun to touch/see/feel the different yarns people are using. Gotta go bag up some more stuff for the give away truck coming friday. TTFN!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! Hope you all have a wonderful, blessed day!

Sent my dear friend these beautiful flowers today to cheer her up from her surgery. She called me today and is doing well. Just so thankful she's home and doing good. God is sooo good! Hope these bring a smile to her face!

My niece, Lila received her package and loved all the goodies I sent her. Her slippers fit too, yeah! I was worried they wouldn't fit...woohoo! Going to go drink some hot tea and work on my Forest Canopy shawl. I left a message on Ravelry to someone who used the same yarn to see how many repeats they got out of this yarn....emailed twice and still haven't heard nothing. Guess I'll put a life line in and see how it goes...so if it looks too close I can frog back. I love this Fleece Artist Sea Wool...so pretty. Pics soon of it!:)

Don't know if she'll have to endure radiation yet. I'm just so happy she's ok and doing well...singing praises!

Big Sneeze I woke up this morning with a sore throat, stuffy, snotty nose! Hopefully this will be a quick cold! Sat outside in the nice warm sun and knit a bit. Then took a good nap.

Spring Cleaning!

Finished another pair of pocketbook slippers, these ones are for my grandmothers birthday. Birthday Also started the Forest Canopy Shawl in some Fleece Artist Sea Wool called sunset. Its gorgeous and really looks like a sunset with pinks, oranges, yellow/brown...awesome. I'm also ordering some gorgeous alpaca/merino yarn from Lizet in the UK for my clapotis and another canopy shawl (love this pattern.) Ooooooooh can't wait to touch it and see it and use it! So excited!

I ironed Ironing yesterday and when I put the clothes away the spring bug bit me in the butt and I started cleaning out closets and drawers. I have 5 give away bags so far! But I forgot to write things down so have to still do that for taxes, duh!:) Jimmy's still congested and snotty...poor guy. No, I'm not being a meany and making him do a bunch of school!

Tomorrow morning my sweet friend is having her surgery...please pray Prayer for her to be calm and wisdom/knowledge for the doctors. Also that she will have a quick recovery and feel better soon. May she feel our love and hugs!

Daffodil Days!

Daffodil Days empowers all of us to make a difference in the fight against cancer and celebrate the American Cancer Society's commitment to end the disease. Daffodil Days is about more than just giving beautiful flowers - it is your opportunity to share hope for a world free of cancer.
James' work each year has this and surprised me last year after Andrea passed away and again last night. Tomorrow would have been her birthday too. He's the best hubby in the world. Isn't this Boyd's bear adorable...its holding a daffodil!
Bought a couple of cute sundresses yesterday at Walmart. Going to go back tomorrow and get a couple more....so comfy and only $12.88! Can't beat that! Jimmy awoke during the middle of the night with a fever, sneezing, and bad congestion. I've been spraying with Lysol and wiping everything down with Clorox wipes. I really don't want it...maybe I'll stay outside all day!:)j/k Then I'd just end up burnt and sick!

Charlie Brown Valentine Sock #1!

Charlie Brown Valentine Sock number 1 is finished! This is the second time though that I knit this one. Didn't think I'd have enough for both socks so had to frog it and start over where I have enough for both of them. Love this Magic Loop method and of course love this White Oak yarn...my favorite sock yarn!:) These remind me of chocolate covered cherries!
Did everyone remember to wear green yesterday? I even blogged about St. Patrick's Day and guess who forgot to wear green!:) Duh! Found another pattern yesterday that I want to do...Forest Canopy Shawl . Darcy had this at the knittin' meetin' and its gorgeous! What a great way to use stash yarn too. You can do it with a skein....hint hint Dawn....stash bustin girlie!:) Haven't found yarn yet for the Clapotis...gotta find just the right stuff! Yes, I know I need to work on Sock 2! Have a great day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

SmileyCentral.com
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Don't forget to wear your green today! Sent hubby in a bright green shirt with a St. Patrick tie today...such a great sport!:)
Went to the Knotty Knitters meeting and had a blast! Stayed for over 4 hours! Darcy brought some Malabrigo and other goodies she bought at Stitches West...droool!:) Her and Diane are making the Clapotis and it looks soooo awesome. I came home and printed off the pattern and might go to the local LYS to see if they have anything I can use for it. It looks challenging and fun! I worked on my Valentine sock and now I'm to the toe, whoohoo then I can start sock 2! A lady in the group, Carol (Sock Queen) was knitting some socks from Woolgirls Seven Deadly Sins....awesome...she can crank out socks like nobodys business...amazing! Michele was knitting a scarf, Robin was knitting two socks on one circ magic looped, Tally was crocheting a couple of different things, Jaime and Mindy were there and also Jo, Melissa and Alexis (couldn't see what they were working on). The groups getting bigger! Then some movie star came in (I have no idea who she was) but they got some autographs and Darcy got her pic with her which I'm sure she'll put on her blog. Very cool! Can't wait till the next meeting in two weeks!

Chemo Hat Finished!

Finished the chemo hat I started, I pray that whom I made it for won't need it. I need one of those styrofoam heads to put hats on...Jimmy didn't really want to model for my pic! I interrupted his game!:) Now I can work on my Valentine socks...although I need to make a pair of slippers for my grandma for her birthday. Woke up this morning with snow on the mountains around us...weird here last week I was in shorts! Jimmy woke with a tummy ache and poops...sure hope he's not getting my crud. I'm supposed to go to my Knotty Knitter meeting but have to wait and see how my baby is feeling.

Bunny Slippers!

Just finished these slippers for my niece, Lila. Isn't she cute? She lives in NY, wish I could give her a big squeeze. These are for her 2nd birthday. She's getting so big! I got a couple of bunny books, bunny bath toy, and bunny soap to go with these. I love doing theme gifts where everything matches. So fun!

Went to Outback steakhouse last night for dinner for James' birthday dinner. Oh yumm! I got an 8oz. prime rib and could only eat half of it. Its like my stomach shrunk when I was sooo sick. Guess thats a good thing huh? James got a 16 oz one but I think it was really half the cow....it was at least 2 in. thick and 8 in. long...we doggy bagged it and brought it home for lunch today.:) After dinner we went to Build a Bear and Jimmy got the cutest stuffed elephant, which he named Peanut. I love that place..its so fun. I'm such a big kid! Tomorrow my knitting group is getting together...hope I feel like going...its been so long since I've been. Have a great weekend!

Slippers & Cake!

Yeah a finished object! I knitted these pocketbook slippers for a special lady at my husbands work. She's going to be having surgery next week so thought these would cheer her up. Please pray for her, for strength, comfort, and a fast recovery.

This is James' birthday cake I bought for him yesterday. Its called cookie dough delirium from Cold Stone Creamery....its was soooooo yummy. Can you find whats wrong with it though? Look how the girl spelled birthday...we got the biggest laugh last night. Went and got him a dress shirt and tie, a dvd and money in a card so he can get a tool he's wanting. We had a really nice time. I also went to Bath and Bodyworks and stocked up on lots of good smellin' stuff. Boy was I worn out last night! Also got some more plants/flowers at Walmart so I can do some more gardening. Although I don't know if that will happen since we're having 20-30 mile an hours winds and rain this weekend. Poor birdies are having a hard time flying...I might just blow away!:)

Happy Birthday Honey!

Today is my Sweetie's birthday. Happy Birthday James!
Yesterday was another beautiful, sunny day in CA. Jimmy and I did school and played outside. Its supposed to get windy today and rain this weekend. Whah...just when I was working on getting more freckles! Yup, freckles not a tan! The joys of fair skin! Should have a finished object tomorrow. I know, finally! Have a great day!

Feeling Better!

Yeah, I'm finally feeling better...no more loosey goosey for me!:) Had a couple of pancakes for breakfast, chicken salad for lunch...mmmmm normal food! Went outside and pulled some weeds from my plants/flowers and sat in the sun for a little bit and knit. Jimmy rode his bike around. So beautiful outside, sunny, warm, and no wind! Jimmy and I even had a good school day. And of course don't forget laundry! Whoo hoo! It seemed like a normal day! Reminded me of a SpongeBob episode...."I'm Normal!" haha Now I just need to get my strength completely back where I can start swimming again. What stinks is the pool where we swim at is going to be closing during the spring to do some renovations. Guess we better get busy building our own! Lets get diggin'! :) Hugs to all my blog buddy's! Hopefully soon there will be some finished knittin going on here!

Charlie Brown Easter Kit!

Another awesome kit from Woolgirl! Each kit came with a Charlie Brown Easter bag...mini sock pattern...a gorgeous egg stitch marker...Charlie Brown Easter keychain....lots and lots of candy and she even personalized the Easter egg! And of course we cannot go without noticing the wonderful White Oak Studio yarn in greens, purple and pink...sooooo pretty. The next Charlie Brown kit is Joe Cool. Love these kits. I need to work on my Valentine ones sometime...don't even have one done yet! Still working on the chemo hat and still sick....ugh! Take care and I pray no one gets this horrible flu...I've had it since Feb. 23! I'm getting sick of bananas, rice, applesauce and toast...the BRAT diet! Have lost almost 20lbs though, gotta look at the positive! Gotta go lay down again!

Best Husband!

At the beginning of the week my hubby went to Build a Bear and made me this adorable teddy! He's the best husband in the world...he's totally taken wonderful care of me for the past two weeks as I've been horizontal and haven't moved from the bed. He's taken a lot of time off from work to help me...he's the best and I love him so much.

Yes, I'm actually vertical now! I've been so miserable...I actually knitted for the first time yesterday..felt awkward for not doing it for two weeks. I'm making a chemo hat for a lady at my hubby's work who has a 4cm. lump in her breast. Still need to do my valentine socks and the bunny slippers for my niece.

Flu...

Jimmy brought the lap top to me so I could check my email. I've been in bed with the flu all week...went to Doc on Wed...went to Doc on Thurs. and he sent me to urgent care to have blood work and an IV...they also gave me medicines through the IV too. No knitting going on at all...just reading once in a while..mainly just laying and sleeping.
