Crochet Chemo Cap!

Finished the crochet chemo cap! I was crocheting away yesterday on it and thought...when does it start looking like a hat? Finally, when it was the size of a large pizza, I read the pattern more thoroughly...diameter 5 in.! Rip it, Rip it! I'm not crocheting for an elephant!:) I probably could have had two hats by the time I got this one done! Once I was paying attention instead of just going around and around and around it was really fun! I changed the pattern and added my own little flair to the end row, plus added the flower. I really like the flower! I really like the little flower thing a lot! It just gives it the finishing touch! A touch of love for someone!:)

Packing the trailer today, making the beds in it, and getting ready to hit the road. Miss Fuji Ann is not a happy camper that she's not going. She gets very sad and pouts when mama isn't around. My poor poochie, Mama give you lots of smoochies before I go! She won't be alone though, Grandma's going to come babysit. I've already got a picture of her in the trailer! Gonna miss ya Ms. Fuji! Yes, I'm a little attached!:)

Getting ready...

Past couple of days have been busy doing errands and getting ready for our trip to Morro Bay. Today I've done laundry and laundry and laundry Clothes Line ...ironing...packing...
I'm soooo tired and am looking forward to having a nice, long soak in the tub! Soaking Yesterday I went to Bath and Bodyworks and they were having a huge sale. They had a 75% off table which I got a lot of candles, wallflowers (plug in and it smells), soaps, and bubble bath. Boy did I stock up. Jimmy and I looked liked penguins Penguins waddling to the car with our bags of goodies! Fun though!

My friend, Alana, has a very cute song on her blog that she wrote...go check it out its funny! She's never not knitting!

Knitting

I'm still working on the crochet baby blanket. I'm knitting something for someones birthday...can't post pics cuz they read my blog faithfully! Also crocheting on the baby hats still, they're so much fun. I want to get the book Knitted Babes to make my niece a doll with clothes for Christmas. I think that'll be fun and that she'll love to play with it.

Charity Hats!

Sending off these baby hats I did over the weekend for a hospital in MA that is in need of them. KnottyKnitter40, Ladybuglola, and Katnmouseknitter are all sending hats too. All hats should be sent to: Coveted Yarn, PO BOX 6015, Gloucester, MA 01930. These were so much fun to do and fast! I loved putting the little flowers on the girl ones!:) They're kind of hiding in the pic except the front one!:)

Hubbies back from fishing...caught a lot of fish and had a great time! Six more day until we get to go camping! So excited! Jimmy's really excited about boogie boarding (me too), I haven't done it since I was twelve and we won't even count how long ago that was! Hey, at least they had boogie boards then!:) That should be some real interesting photo opportunities, huh? Still trying to decide if I want to cut off my hair? Just don't know if I'll do it before or after the trip. Guess if I actually called the stylist I could check if she could even get me in this week....that would settle the before or after decision! I think I shocked Dawn about how short I'm wanting to go...but I need 10in. to donate to Locks for Love! :)

Knitting on my Charlie Brown Easter socks and crocheting a baby blanket.
Haven't crocheted in awhile and boy is it making my hands cramp up!:)
My first sunflower of 2008! Its a big one too!

I've got grapes! Yeah! This poor grapevine has been through the ringer! Got it last year and the bunnies ate it up. I kept watering it, put wire around it and got it to come back to life. This year its had lots and lots of leaves and whoohoo it now has grapes!:)

(Chorus:)I heard it through the grapevine, Not much longer would you be mine. Oh I heard it through the grapevine, Oh and I'm just about to lose my mind. Honey, honey yeah.

Woolgirl Sock Club: Kit 2!

The title of this kit is Froggin! For non-knitters froggin is when you have to rip out your work (rip it, rip it - sounds like a frog) hence the term frogged or froggin! This is usually avoided at all costs, not a fun experience at all! The kit is based on the Tree Frog with all its vivid colors of green, blue, yellow, orange and red. I'm so glad I didn't peek on Ravelry those who'd already received their packages and spoil the surprise, its a great package! Hopefully Carol received hers too, she peeked though!:)

The kit included: Sport weight sock yarn in the "Froggin" colorway dyed by Hillary from Dashing Dachs. Froggin sock pattern by Lisa Dykstra. A mini Woolgirl calculator. A hand-crafted bamboo 1-inch square stitch gauge from Karatstix. A frog notepad, pencil, post card, frog sucker, plastic tree frogs for company, stickers, gorgeous hand molded frog stitch marker by Jillian at Wee-Ones, and a 10% off coupon for Woolgirl. Plus Jen even had little frog grafiti in the package. Her packages are sooooo much fun to open. So glad I joined this club, its toadally awesome!:) Fuji was very excited about this package...her favorite toy is a frog. All you have to do is say "froggy" and within seconds she'll have it for you. Can you just picture her in little froggy socks!:)

WWKIP Day!

Darcy & Me!

Dolores, Carol, & Jackie!

WWKIP - World Wide Knit in Public Day....Some of the Knotty Knitters went to Carl's Jr. to knit in public! Darcy was demonstrating her cable necklace, I was working on my Easy Flame scarf, Dolores had me check her Clapotis, Carol brought her gorgeous shawl she's working on, and Jackie was going to make a baby hat. A lady commented on Dolores' Knotty Knitter shirt which was really cool. It was soooo good to see my buddies, its been a while since I've been to a meeting. Not much knitting happened but had a bunch of great laughs!:)

Here's some pink for ya Dawn!:) Fuji ordered a luxury harness leash set yesterday...in pink of course...and she said a matching pink ball hopped into the cart too! A Camping We will go....

A camping we will go, a camping we will go, hi ho a dairyo, a camping we will go!
My adorable hubby found us a trailer to make traveling for me easier! Yup, always a toilet with us!:) It has a real nice kitchen too so I can cook things that don't make me sick. I already have a ton of food allergies (shellfish, tuna, onion, avocado, wheat, milk products, nuts, berries, melons, splenda, sorbitol, can't think right now) and with IBS I'm supposed to stay away from (red meat, milk products, fatty foods, chocolate, alcohol, caffeine, carbonated drinks, sorbitol, popcorn)! Not much left to eat!:) Back to the trailer...lots of room for hubby's camera equipment and even more room for yarn purchases!:) So excited to hit the road! So many campgrounds near the beaches are already booked up! This coming weekend is Father's Day, then the following weekend my hubby and dad are going fishing....can you hear the big whine....whahhhhhh! Guess we'll have to go somewhere after that! Yes, big pout!:) Take care!

Starting from the top is Unique Sheep in Geranium; Hazel Knits in Greenlake; Dream in Color Smooshy in Dusky Aurora; Dream in Color Smooshy in Happy Forest. Jen (aka Woolgirl) is so awesome she threw in some soak and an adorable sheep notepad, plus she always has her stuff wrapped in pretty tissue and ribbons. Its such a treat to open her things! My hubby says "yarn is the best medicine"...of course I agree wholeheartedly!:)

Birthday Treasure Hunt!

It's Jimmy's 11th Birthday today! I made a treasure hunt for him to find his big present. The first clue was on the Webkinz cat that I put on his pillow. It said: Happy Birthday! Are you ready to play? Go pee and you will see...your next clue! Didn't post the toilet picture where clue 2 was... I know your surprised I didn't post that one huh!?

Clue 2: Find the things that go on your feet. They rhyme with socks! You guessed it his Crocs!

Clue 3: Open door, clue not on the floor...straight ahead, there are 12 of them....yup on the tree!

Clue 4: Now find something blue, there you'll find something for you! (Its where we throw things away.) You guessed it the trash can...where he found clue 5 and a package! Pssst....inside the package is a basketball!

Clue 5: Take two steps forward, turn to the left..your birthday surprise! A basketball hoop!:)
Love, Mommy & Daddy. He was so shocked and surprised! It was really fun watching him find each clue! Going to order some pizza for dinner and play basketball! Having his party on Saturday with the family...had to do something on his actual birthday though!:) And no I'm not making him do school! Boy I'd never hear the end of it! Eleven years old....time flys!

Smellin' Good!

Went birthday shopping for Jimmy yesterday and got a bunch of things he'll love. Found out while I was shopping that a friend of mine at the candle shop has IBS too. It was nice finding out how she deals with it. Its nice knowing you're not alone. While I was shopping I turned around and saw sunflowers. Of course you know this is my favorite flower. It was bubble bath, lotion, body spray and a nail file. My favorite candle is Gold Canyon Sunflower (which they stopped making) and it smells just like it. The shopping really wore me out big time so it was nice to make a yummy smelling bath and relax. Today is laundry and school...whoohoo...might give Jimmy tomorrow off since its his birthday!:)

Knittin', Bakin', Shoppin', oh my!

My Easy Flame Lace Scarf is now 32.5in. and I still have 24gms. to go! This is a very long project! Love this lace malabrigo...sometimes I just sit and snuggle with it. Tried to watch Becoming Jane last night...don't know if I just wasn't in a serious movie mood or what, but what a snoozer movie, big yawn! Yesterday did school with Jimmy, did laundry, and made some more of those nutritious pumpkin chocolate chip cookies...mmmm! Today I need to go birthday shopping for a special little boy...cannot believe Jimmy is going to be 11 on Thursday! Where does the time go? Whah!

Weeping Willow & Tetherball

Hubby planted (I watched) our first tree on our property...a weeping willow! Yeah...can't wait to see it grow and get big and full. My mom and dad got Jimmy a tether ball game so the boys set it up today and are playing it. Which one is going to get smacked in the head first?:) I'm feeling better today, not the doubled over pain like yesterday. Hubby found me some supplements at Walmart that are supposed to help IBS. Ordered some books from Amazon about it and of course a couple of knitting books popped into the cart along with a yoga dvd! Yesterday hubby had me order some yarn from Woolgirl to cheer me up and get me better...he said its the best medicine for me...am I going to argue with that...never!:)
