Beautiful Lapghans...

Sillyfru of the Sassypants Knitter Podcast sent in this cheery lapghan that she's been working on. She has been such a blessing in this contest by mentioning it on nine of her episodes! I get excited each time too, think I say every time "hey, knittinwolf, that's me!:)!! This has really meant a lot to me her doing this...then I open her package today with the blanket.....look what else was in it...this adorable Snowbunny figurine which is entitled "A basket of joy".....each week her podcast is my basket of joy so if you haven't listened to her, get over there and download all the episodes! This token from her of course brought happy tears and means so much to me! I haven't met a lot of my online friends but feel soooo close to them, such a treasure!

The next package held Andreia's pretty blanket....she also sent a little somethin' to me....these beautiful sock stitch markers. I'm so blessed to have such awesome friends!

Cat sent this fabulous the pattern on it, and the colors are so springy. These packages are so fun to open and can't wait to see the joy all of these blankets bring to the nursing home residents!
Going to check the P.O. Box Friday to see if there are any blankets and will draw winners and post it later that day! Thank you so much for doing this!:)

Dogs on Thursdays...DOT!

This is the look I got when I asked Fuji if she was ready for a bath....doesn't look to agreeable!:)

She just wants to laze in the sun!:)
Happy DOT!
Here's a laugh for ya'll:
Three Ladies in a Sauna...
Two are younger and one is a senior, all naked in the sauna....
Suddenly there was a beeping sound, one of the young women pressed her forearm and the beep stopped.
The others looked at her and she said "that was my pager, I have a microchip under the skin of my arm."
A few minutes later, a phone rang. The second younger woman lifted her palm to her. When she finished she explained it was her mobile phone, that she had a microchip in her hand.
The older woman felt very low tech...not to be out done, she decided she had to do something just as impressive. She stepped out of the sauna and went to the bathroom.......She returned with a piece of toilet paper hanging from her rear end. The others raised their eyebrows at her. The older woman finally said...."well will you look at that......I'm getting a fax!"
Have a great day and smile!:)

Finished Objects!!

Padfoot socks are done! Love this pattern and will definitely knit it again!
Have no idea how I got that funky grey border thingy on the pic?
Made this wee tiny sweater for the LYS...they have a display of mini sweaters. I knit it on size 3 dpn's with my handspun. Turned out so cute that I might need to make one to hang on the outside of my purse!

Our main computer isn't running Jimmy's pc games, we've gone through three video cards...ordered a new computer yesterday........geez its going to be a week of whiny child! Told him he could always knit with me! He sure frowned at that!:) Going to send him fishing this weekend with my Dad and James! I see lots of knitting and relaxing this coming weekend! Might even get to finish watching all the extras on my New Moon dvd!

My Knitpicks order came the other day. I'm going to be doing the Hemlock Ring Blanket KAL with the Barknknit pack! This starts April 1! I've been looking and looking for a green to match my quilt on my bed and the color of my walls and finally found the perfect color at Knitpicks....Bok Choy! Of course the sock yarns jumped into the cart because they were clearanced, Spruce and Oak. I needed some more circs because I'm always using my other ones and need another set!:) My dpns had split down the center so they replaced them with no questions asked! Was kind of shocked that they'd split like that though... Almost finished with the Padfoot socks....need to make a mini sweater for the yarn store display too!

Don't worry this won't be donated with dog hair :) ....I wash all blankets sent in and they're put in a huge zippered bag. This is so there are no allergens or scents on them so the residents of the nursing home don't complain or get sick.

Padfoot Sock....

Working on the Padfoot Sock pattern designed by Natalie Rush (Barknknit)! The Padfoot socks pattern was inspired by the character Sirius Black in the Harry Potter book series by J.K. Rowling . Sirius Black is a wizard who turns into a Dog and also happens to be my (Natalie's) favorite character.
I haven't knit a pair of socks in seven months! Think I only knit two pairs last year! I'm doing these with Fiberphiles Super Squish in Blackberry Expresso, lovely yarn to work with! I started a knit-a-long on the Barknknit Podcast group on Ravelry so if you wanna come share please do! Loving this pattern...simple but yet keeps your interest!:)
My knees are feeling better...not well but better!:) I can get up and do a few things then need to sit and rest them but at least there is improvement!:) Hopefully will get to knit night this week!

Close up of feather and fan pattern...

Multnomah blocking.....
This was an experience blocking this....through the blanket down on the ground...soaked the shawl....went over to the blanket and thought "oh no I can't get down on my knees!"....scooched off a chair onto my hiney and blocked it as I scooched around on my butt...had all the cats and Fuji watching me and wondering what I was doing! Didn't even think about my knees being hurt until it was too late, duh, oh well I got it done. Can you hear my hubby saying "stubborn redhead!" :) Didn't get it done by the end of the Ravelympics(could of if I stopped when the pattern said) but wanted to use up the yarn and did more repeats than it called for. Love the colors of greens in this Bee Mice Elf yarn!
