Woolgirl December Kit...

This just came this past week...my last Woolgirl 2009 kit. I'm not doing this club this coming year because I haven't had time to knit any of the kits from this whole last year and have some from the previous year too! Its fun getting these packages every couple of months but also very expensive. Want to knit/crochet out of my stash a bit!
Kit includes:
1 skein of Yarn Love Juliet fingering sock yarn in the Sugared Grapefruit colorway.
A sock pattern and a hat/mitt pattern.
A custom pink buddy case from Namaste...exclusive color for Woolgirl.
Hot cocoa, a heart shaped whisk and hand-made vanilla marshmallows from www.haveitsweet.com. A set of four petite soaps from Naiad Soap Arts..cough cough.
Sweet Treat Postcards and a stitch marker.
Sillyfru from Sassypantsknitter Podcast did another wonderful review of our lotion/soaps and mentioned the contest I'm having. Very touching and I thank her so much for her support!

Scrumptious Fiber!

This Woolgirl kit was inspired by Robert Frosts poem, "Birches."
The kit includes:
1 skein of Pigeon Roof Studios fingering weight sock yarn in the Winter Birches colorway.
Birches sock pattern designed by Laura Patterson. Winter Birches mitt pattern designed by Lisa Dykstra (love her patterns).
A birch themed sock knitting bag designed by Faye of The Silver Pumpkin.
1 set of birch dpn knitting needles from brittanyneedles.com.
Set of birch themed greeting cards designed and painted by Jean Kreiter. These are so pretty!
A stitch marker designed by Debbie and Jenny from Crimson Orchid Designs.
A mini crochet hook stitch saver designed by Ruth. Beads to add to you socks and a birch themed gift tag.
I love the mitt pattern and can't wait to cast them on...need to finish up some of my projects first!
I ordered some fiberphiles yarn and haven't posted it yet. The update was on the nineteenth of October. OMG what a crazy production that was! Had to keep f5 the whole time because as soon as she put up a skein you refreshed and it was gone. Tried putting the pumpkin spice one into my cart and whammo it was plucked right out from someone else. Jimmy came over to help me and we finally scored the blackberry expresso. I had just had my heart set on the pumpkin spice...even had a pattern bought for it....Nathan (straphanging) had scored it so said I could buy it from him! So sweet of him! The pattern I ordered for this yarn is a shawl and I'm so glad I haven't cast on yet because I keep getting pattern errata sent to me! It's a thirteen page pattern too and I've already reprinted it three times! It's the Antonia shawlette. Such yummy yarn...the pumpkin spice has cashmere in it...mmmm!:)

Ladybug Kit!

This months Woolgirl kit theme was Love Bugs....
It came with:
1 skein of Miss Babs Yummy fingering weight sock yarn in the Ladybug colorway. Also included was a black heel/toe skein so that you have the option of using it on your socks.
Fly Away Home sock pattern by Lisa Dykstra (http://ayenforyarn.blogspot.com). I love her patterns...my favorite sock pattern was from her called Reina, can't wait to cast on for these!
7" fibersphere...protects your fiber. A mini ladybug sphere to hold your stitch markers.
A ladybug stitch marker, ladybug pen which is also a tape measure, ladybug emery board, ladybug notepad and eraser, magnets, stickers and a ladybug tattoo! Very fun kit!
I'm not to in love with the fibersphere idea...nice idea to keep the yarn clean and undamaged but.....if my yarn is in a baggie it's easy to throw into my bag, whereas this thing is big and awkward. Another thing is I put my skeins into a cake so they won't roll around...this thing is going to roll around? Strange contraption but some might enjoy it. I'll try it and let you know. Jimmy thought it was a thing for a hamster and now that's all I keep thinking!:)

Happy Spring!

Happy 1st Day of Spring!
This is also my first tulip! So cool because it's the first time I've ever planted bulbs. You plant them in September and you get this beautiful surprise in the spring! All our trees are budding and flowering too...might even get some fruit this year on some of them!

My prize package from Woolgirl arrived! I won this contest in January about pine cones! It came with a cute project bag that's like a backpack, some cute sheep note cards, a weekly magnetic planner, and two skeins of yarn...Madelintosh and Stitch Jones (which I've never even heard of!) Very cool! I'd forgotten about this so was very surprised when there was a package out by my fence! Had to think...what did I order now?:)

Took Fuji to the vet yesterday too...updated her shots and had them check a lump on her arm. The vet said it wasn't a malignant tumor but either a fibrous tumor or a birth defect. Just so glad it wasn't the "C" word! The location of it though the doctor wants to just leave it alone unless it gets bigger of bothers her. I think I was shaking about as bad as she was! She slept the whole ride home, totally exhausted from the trip. He examined her so thoroughly for about 20-30 minutes...very pleased with him. Glad she's fine...love her sooooo much!

A Cleopatra themed stitch marker in pretty bag my Mama Llama.
A silk sock sack from Lantern Moon.
A Queen of Knitting Sock Club pen.
Hand Lotion made by Christine from Rachel Rene.

Great package....it's so fun to open these bi-monthly kits.
Have a great Friday!:)

Woolgirl Sale!

Namaste Zuma bag in Peacock color!
Was quite surprised how much smaller this is compared to my other Namaste bags. Will still hold a lot of stuff though and I just love the color. They have such awesome colors that its hard to decide which one to get. They have an awesome lime color, Hollywood pink...they need to make a bright red, that would be awesome!

Dream in Color shrug pattern and Dream in Color Classy in Nightwatch colorway.
Woolgirl had an after New Year's sale...whoohoo! The bag was 25% off and the yarn and pattern was also on sale, can't remember the percent though..but super deals! She, Jen, also throws in cute things with her packages...a cute sheep notepad and a stitch marker. She's the best and I just love shopping at Woolgirl!
I'm really feeling the Castonitis bug creeping up on me...I want to cast on for this shrug..I want to cast on another pair of socks...I want to cast on for the swirl wrap........
Update on the Wii Fit......OUCH....yesterday I could barely move when I woke up...once I got around it loosened up a bit....today I still feel the aches but not quite as bad. Whats good is that means its working! Its sooooo much fun. I try to beat James' high scores, which is super hard to do. He's doing awesome with it too....he's already lost five pounds! Great job honey!
