Did do a little bit of knitting yesterday as I watched Nanny McPhee. This is for my mom for Mother's Day with a bunch of yummy smelling Bath and Bodyworks goodies. She loves gardenias so made it in white. I have the flu again...gotta go lay down. Tootles!Wednesday, April 30, 2008

Lace Malabrigo & Meeting
Saturday one of my yarn buddies (Dolores) came over and brought me my lace malabrigo that we ordered together to save on shipping. Isn't it pretty...sooooo soft too! I'm going to make the Easy Flame Lace scarf with it. Dolores came down with the flu yesterday and wasn't able to make it to our Knotty Knitter meeting at Panera Bread. Pray she gets better soon. My sweet, friend (Sindia) from hubbies work has a lot of tests being performed the next couple days...pray everything turns out well and that she'd have a peace with her.The Knotty Knitter meeting was fun. Darcy has pictures posted on her blog. Susan was working on magic loop two socks at once socks (that was a mouthful); Leesa was working on some fingerless mitts; Mel was working on an adorable hat; Mindy was working on a vest her husband Jaimie was working on a sweater; Jackie was working on a cute dress for her granddaughter; Darcy was working on her Clapotis as was I. Had a yummy croissant thing filled with chocolate, sooo good but didn't agree with me later on. I need to learn to stay away from things I'm allergic too! After the meeting came home and wound Darcy's lace malabrigo and enjoyed a nice cup of tea. Wonderful day! I'm now completely bushed!

Webkinz Extravaganza!
Went to Joanns to get some supplies for my hubby so he can make me some more of those cool shawl pins...want him to make me a palm tree one and a flamingo one! We then went Mother's Day shopping for my mama. Went to Bath and Bodyworks to try these cool flip flops on that give you a workout when you walk...they were really tight and hurt though so didn't get any. When I was leaving the lady said to try on different ones because some are stretchier...next time! Then we went to Red Robin for lunch....mmmmmm....I love their chicken teriaki burger...scrumptious! I know Dawn is now drooling! Had such a wonderful day! I even vacuumed and changed our bed before we even left. I can tell I'm getting my energy back..plus this juice I'm drinking Xangos is giving me an awesome boost! Gonna start swimming again next week...whoohoo!

New Noro!
Got some new Noro Iro today in the mail and an Addi Turbo lace needle. The lace needles are supposed to be really good for guess what....lace. I'm hoping they'll make the Spring Thing shawl a lot easier. I'm also going to be doing a knitalong with the flame lace scarf...in yummy lace malabrigo. Can't wait...like I need to start another project! With the Noro I'm going to make another Ponchette...the other one turned out so good...I love it and it was easy! TTFNTuesday, April 22, 2008

Clapotis Progress...
My Clapotis (KLAP OH TEE) is coming along well...its sooooo much fun. I just love this yarn! My buddy, Darcy, said it reminds her of Monets painting Water Lillies. Clapotis in French means splashes and waves...my colorway is called Pacific..how awesome is that!
Jimmy was doing a lot of bird watching this weekend! He took pictures of them and observed their behaviors...look how close they got to him. This is a mourning dove...we did a backyard bird count last year and we have approximately 40-50 doves a day! We even have two quail that come to our feeder! Plus sparrows, finches, blackbirds, and crows. Fun stuff! Our chipmunks wouldn't get close enough to get a picture...we've named them Alvin, Simon, Theodore, Chip, and Dale! One of them I rescued out of the dog's water last year and he's not as skittish as the others...he'll even look into our french doors!:)Sunday, April 20, 2008

Woolgirl Sock Club!
Look how beautiful Jen at Woolgirl packaged the sock club kit!
The kit came with a Woolgirl Sock Club bag, notecards, pen, matching stitch marker, pattern, and yarn. The pattern was designed by Lisa Dykstra and is entitled Reina which means Queen.
The colorway is based on Georgia O'Keefe's Petunia painting. Mama Llama Superwash wool...look at the beautiful violets and plum tones. So pretty!"Nobody sees a flower, really, it is so small. We haven't time - and to see takes time, like to have a friend takes time." Georgia O'Keefe

Clapotis - A - Long!
I finally got to the first section in the pattern where you let the stitches drop, and drop, and drop. Quite scary...was worried it wasn't going to work but whoohoo what fun. Can't wait to do it again! At least I'm now feeling like knitting! You know when your sick when you don't knit!
This is how much I've done so far....this is the Pacific yarn I got from Lizet in the UK...its soooo soft and yummy. Have to make sure I put it out of Fuji reach because she loves alpaca! Even when I'm knitting with it she sits next to me and noses it. We know what she likes to do with yarn though...argh!Tuesday, April 15, 2008
Awesome Friends!
The past week I've had a relapse of the flu I had last month. Friday night spent seven hours in urgent care having iv's, potassium (so disgusting), bp monitored, ekg, lots of blood work...no fun. Two wonderful, dear ladies in my knitting group brought me this awesome lambie. Its sooooooooooooo snuggly. They both live about 45 minutes to an hour away and still made the trip to bring me this. I'm sooooo blessed to have them in my life. Also in their get well bag was a dog sweater pattern that looks like a shark, and some yummy malabrigo. They sure do know how to cheer up a girl! Plus they've been calling/emailing to check on me. I can't thank them enough...I'm so lucky! My TN Buddy sent me a cute get well e-card too and bunches of well wishes. I just love all my friends soooooooo much.
Today I'm feeling much better...still wiped out but better and on the road to wellness. Once I'm better hubby and I will have to at least go out to dinner for our anniversary that we had to cancel all our plans.
Thanks to all my blog buddies who wished us a Happy Anniversary...they brought lots of smiles my way!

My Lizet Yarn!
This is Pacific colorway and is going to be used for my Clapotis! Can't wait to start it! Look at the matching stitch marker she sent too! Its soooooooooooooo soft and yummy! Then....
I also got Celtica colorway for another Forest Canopy Shawl and it came with a matching stitch marker too. Lizzie is sooo awesome...she did such a beautiful job dying these. Just love them sooooooo much! Haven't felt too good so just been snuggling with them today. But had to blog about them. So soft! 50% merino and 50% alpaca. The Celtica above is more vibrant greens than what the pic shows. Just gorgeous!Monday, April 7, 2008
Ponchette!
Finished my Noro Iro Ponchette! This was a fun, no thinker, knit! I was going to use it for my trip to Cambria but have a touch of the flu again. This was really nice yarn to work with but it had lots of areas where it'd been cut and knotted. Love the colors of it though...bought this yarn last year in Atascadero!
Got these books in the mail...Darcy told me two of them were really good...so far I'm half way done with the Knitting Under the Influence. I sooooo love to read...but then I feel guilty I'm not knitting...but hey I'm reading about it!:)Saturday, April 5, 2008
Valentine Socks!
Yes, Dawn, I've finally finished my Charlie Brown Valentine socks! Guess now I need to do my Charlie Brown Easter ones!:) I so love this White Oak Studio sock yarn...my favorite! Also supposed to receive another Woolgirl sock club kit on the 14th! I better get to knittin'!Thursday, April 3, 2008
G'ma's Birthday & Meeting!
Met with the Knotty Knitter's last night at Starbucks
! Had a great time like always. Sweet, shy, Leesa was working on a beautiful prayer shawl for a lady at her work; Mel was working on a yummy, malabrigo shrug (although we were scaring the pooey out of her and taking it off the needles to see if it was going to fit her):); I was working on my ponchette; Darlin' Darcy was clapping along on her clapotis and being served free coffee; Dolores was there in spirit because Darcy wore a ladybug shirt, she was very much missed (although I didn't mess up on my knitting
); James was designing a lion for a sweater and his wife, Mindy was crocheting. We always have a great time. Its so nice to get together to chat, knit, and fellowship with each other. Everyone should have a great, caring group to get together with.

April Fool's Day!
Hope everyone has a great day! The Spring Thing shawl is going to be frogged!:( This mohair stuff is for the birds! A lady on Ravelry told me to put it in the freezer, it helps separate the hairs! Its so hairy I don't even know if it can be frogged! This pattern is only a chart...guess I will learn quick!:) Still working on Valentine sock, started a ponchette, and might try that shawl again. My yarn from the UK, Lizet, will soon be here, yeah! When that comes I'll start the clapotis. This is sooooooooooo unlike me to have this many projects going on at once! My knittin' groups meeting tomorrow night...don't know if I will go due to Jimmy's swimming and that we'll be gone on vacation next week. He needs the swim time. TTFN!
