Colonoscopy!

Well ya'll like pictures....so here's what I did today!:) The stuff you have to drink for this procedure is horrendous, horrible, yucky...then you pee out your butt forever! Did get some sleep last night though...even though I slept by the toilet. My poor puppy didn't know what I was doing on the floor! She took care of me real well. The nurses and doctor were super duper. They found no cancer (Thank God), no polyps, nada...he did do routine biopsies but said I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome...this was confirmed even more when they woke me up and I was in a lot of pain in my stomach. I'm just so thankful that it wasn't something serious. The doctor said 1 in every 4 women have this...aren't I the lucky one!:) Thank you all for your love, support, and prayers. I love you guys! Well its been two days with no food so hubby has gone to KFC! yumm And on the knitting front...haven't done any in two days!

25 Inches!

The Easy Flame Scarf I'm working on is now 25in.! This lace knitting is sloooow going! Its really enjoyable though. Didn't knit but two rows yesterday...am getting really nervous about Thursday and Friday. I know, I know, its no big deal....just am scared at what they might find. Kaiser called yesterday wanting to set up an appt. for a barium xray...ug told them I'd call them after I had the colonoscopy...let me get through one thing at a time! Its for the upper GI anyways which I'm not having any problem there, its all down below!? Also my blood sugars have been running high so might be pre-diabetic...I'm not even 40 yet...didn't think these things happen till then? Some good news is my friend, Sindia, who's going through chemo is feeling better from her first treatment...praise God!:) Also my friend Nell, aka ChickenKnits, just finished her nursing program and has landed a great job...hip, hip, hooray, so proud of her!

Cup o' Tea!

Had a wee bit of tea yesterday and knit a bit on the easy flame scarf. Also did the fun stuff called laundry and ironing, oh joy!:) I did get to talk to my Fl. blog buddy, Jenny on the phone. Her hubby has gone through cancer of the rectum, which after two PET scans he is cancer free! Thank You God! I knew she'd know the symptoms and what to expect during a colonoscopy, which I'm having on May 30. It calmed me to find out exactly what to expect, thanks Jen! Think I'm more nervous in what they could find..the unknown is scary. Finished the last of the home testing they've been having me do...this one I haven't been able to have any red meat (not that I eat it more than once a week anyways)..I'm really wanting red meat for dinner!:) Funny how when you can't have something thats when you want it! Have a great day!

Progress & Cookies!

Haven't done much on my funky socks...been working on the easy flame scarf a bit. Its a fun, relaxing pattern. The malabrigo lace is soooo soft and nice to work with. The boys are off seeing Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull! Very quiet with them gone. Its overcast, windy, rainy...perfect time to relax and knit a little. Jimmy and I made these Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookies yesterday...he loves them and hey there's pumpkin in them so it makes them a vegetable right!:) Hope everyone has a safe, fun Memorial Day weekend!

New Project...

Started the Easy Flame Lace Scarf...its knit with malabrigo lace that is soooo soft and yummy. The colorway is such a pretty green. Very easy pattern...first time I've used Addi's and don't know if I care for them that well, especially for how much they cost. My Knotty Knitter group is doing this as a KAL and each one of us is doing it in a different colorway so that we can drool over each others!:) We'll have to get a group picture when they're finished of all of us wearing them. Also started the other Easter sock. I didn't even pay attention to how wild the yarn was until it was mentioned on the blog! so funny!:) Off to do school, laundry, and daily duties!

Another Sock Done!

This is one of the Woolgirl's Charlie Brown Easter sock finished. Its White Oak Studio yarn, size 3 circs magic looped. I didn't do the heel that the pattern called for because I don't like doing that wrap/turn junk....have no idea what the names are for the different heels but the one I did turned out...whoohoo!
On the health front I just finished a 48 hr. fast (only had water)....well its not food allergies causing my symptoms...on with further testing. Pray they find out what it is....

Mother's Day Yarn!

Hand Maiden Sea Silk - Ireland (vibrant greens/gray) So love this, its gorgeous! Going to make the Storm Water Shawl that came free with the purchase of the yarn.

My first Cherry Tree Hill sock yarn..its a bright watermelon pink and then Alpaca Sox called heavens in pink. It reminds me of a sunset that has a lot of the pinks/blues mixed together.
Please pray for my sweet friend who's undergoing her first chemo treatment tomorrow. She has to have 6 sessions of this and a years worth of injections. More prayers the better!:)
I go the doctor tomorrow to see whats wrong...it cannot be the fourth time with the flu! I'm tired of bonding with the toilet...hopefully they will find out whats wrong!

Pre-Mother's Day Goodies!

Hubby picked up these scales for me at Harbor Freight so when I wind my yarn I can weigh it! It'll be really cool when I want to do a skein of socks into two cakes, I can get equal grams on each!
My books came today...Debbie Macomber's Twenty Wishes, and Stephanie Pearl-McPhee Things I Learned from Knitting...whether I wanted to or not. My Mother's Day yarn hasn't arrived yet (Handmaiden Sea Silk, Cherry Tree Hill, and Alpaca Sox ? can't remember the name!) Pics as soon as they come in!
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Good Gnomie Day! :)

Cinco de Mayo!

Nachos for dinner! mmmmmmmmmm Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Adventures of the Knotty Gnome!

My friend, Dolores, brought me this naughty, knotty gnome yesterday. It has been getting into so much trouble since she left it. Found it this morning in my jasmine bush...he's carrying a little bucket so don't know what he was up too. Such an innocent face when I caught him!

Later, I went to knit a couple of rows in my Woolgirl socks and what do I find...something staring up at me...now he's blushing...hope he didn't frog any of it!

Then Jimmy and I are doing his math school work and the little imp is getting ready to bug the sleeping kitty...poor Cosmo...but then comes Fuji to the rescue! She'll take care of that knotty gnomie! grrrr

Thanks Dolores...love ya....dedicated to the 3Gnomies!

Been working on my first Woolgirl Sock club socks. There are twenty rows for the cuff. I did three repeats on the leg part and have done the heel. The yarn is really pretty and nice to work with. Today is the Knotty Knitter meeting...I didn't go because I need to get my immune system strengthened before I start going out and about. Sure hope they're having a great time!

Chinese Tea!

A wonderful, sweet lady (Sindia) at my hubby's work sent this to me today. Its Chinese tea! In the green box its Jasmine Tea, it has an aroma of tropical flowers and a fruity taste. Its the most popular tea in Northern China. In the beautiful tins are: Oolong Tea, Jasmine Tea, Rose Black Tea, Pu-erh Tea, Green Tea, and Lichee Black Tea. Can't wait to try them..it was too late when hubby got home to try them so will tomorrow. The tins are awesome...even Jimmy said they're too pretty to use and we need to save them! This was so thoughtful of her. She's such an awesome lady! Shieh Shieh Sindia!
