Dogs on Thursdays...DOT!

This is our big dog, Gypsy. She "found" me 9.5 years ago. I took soooo many pics of her yesterday and these are the only ones that came out. She does not like having her picture taken. She kept turning her back to me and ignoring me. She started giving me the "leave me alone" look so photography session stopped.

This is where she started giving me the look. She's a little off and the vets wanted to put her down because she likes to attack little animals and when pulled off will turn on you. I'm a big sucker though and wouldn't put a healthy dog down. We're just real careful with her. We don't allow her near the cats or Fuji, she has her own room. She also hates being outside. She will go outside to potty and if I'm home alone will circle the property to make sure I'm ok. If I'm outside she will walk with me most of the way but then runs for the back door to be let in. She loves her belly rubbed and likes to tear out squeakers in toys. We love her!

Daddy's girls!
Getting some pettin' from her Daddy before she goes outside to do her business!

Happy Dogs on Thursday!

Cute pictures! Zoe doesn't like to have her picture taken either. My mom and I are kind of in the same situation as you. We have a 13 year old Shih Tzu who loves my mom and I, but he hates strangers. I think he's just protecting us most of the time. You have to be careful with him, though, because he's turns on us sometimes and we've gotten bit. I'm sure if he was with anyone else they would have put him down for his aggressive behaviors, but we love him to death and are glad that we could give him a long, happy life.

Thank you for working around Gypsy's needs. That's so awesome that you and your family are willing and able to keep her feeling secure while protecting the rest of the household.

I think you're wonderful for keeping her safe and loving her even with her problems. A special needs dog deserves a special person in her life.

Charlotte doesn't like having her pic taken either. Maybe it's a girl thing or the brite lite on the camera may have something to do with it too. :) happy DOT!!

Awwww, I think it is wonderful that you are supporting your dog through a difficult stage. That you value that she is part of your family. In this day and age of disposable things, and pets, you wonder sometimes whats next. God Bless You!

Good for you. Everyone deserves a second or third or fourth chance. They do look like daddy's girls.
