Happy Birthday Fuji!
Fuji has three birthdays really...April 27 was when she was actually born, June 29 is the day we picked her up, but she was meant to be my birthday present which is July 8! She just gets spoiled three times! Three times the charm right!:)
Fuji with her new toys...Jimmy gave her the stuffed crab and we'd gotten her the squeaky cupcake. Notice how she's looking at Trouble on the side of her eye making sure he's not getting too close to her new toys!:)

The super duper dog and cat treats included in this kit:
It's Raining Cats and Dogs sock pattern by Kelly Kubicz. Raindrops shawl pattern by Renee Strouts. A dog bone calculator with cute little dog paw buttons..I got pink, yeah! It came in a cute little paw print bag that will be perfect for some knitting accessories. A set of pattern tamers which I've been really wanting to try made by Kelly Black. The most adorable stitch markers by Cathy and Emilee of MD Knits, one dog and one cat, gonna go check out their other stuff because these are just way to cute! Paw print bamboo needle gauge by Karen from Karatstix. An umbrella shaped tape measure. Five dog/cat themed greeting cards to include into your knitting gifts. Eco-friendly mini Euclan wool wash...I've always used SOAK so am excited to try this out. Dog/cat themed stickers and adorable charms throughout the whole package. These packages are always soooo much fun to open! Love them! Just need to get busy knitting some of these kits!:)
1 scrumptious skein of Dream in Color Smooshy sock yarn in the It's Raining Cats and Dogs colorway. I love Dream in Color and have yet to knit it into socks. I've made a couple of Forest Canapy shawls out of it but never socks. This is definitely going to be the socks! Going to order some other colorway to make the beautiful shawl pattern that came in the kit too....none are as fiercely loyal as dog people. - Linda Shrieves

Happy DOT!
This is one of Fuji's favorite games now....chasing Jimmy's Nerf bullets...he's even got her trained to retrieve them and bring them to him! This shoots out 10 bullets rapidly and she loves it! She used to like the ones where it does single bullets but loves how this one goes all around her! Although she'll play with him whatever one he chooses!Sunday, June 14, 2009
I'm doing this post from my phone so I am hoping it works. I also have no clue as to how to get a pic with it!:)

Pattern Help...
This is the Landscape Shawl by Evelyn Clark. I'm using Lorna's Laces Lion & Lamb yarn in the colorway Wild Purls. I thought it was worsted weight and so preceded to check my gauge for that. Well, it is aran weight....is aran weight worsted or dk? My next boo boo is I did the gauge swatch in stockinette because that is what most do it in.....well read the pattern last night and suddenly saw that it said to do the gauge in garter st. What fun reading those little bumps...I have 14sts to 4in.....that is the gauge for dk weight in the pattern, for the worsted version its 12st to 4 in. Sooooo do I frog it and do the pattern in the dk version or just continue on in the worsted weight version.....in the end on the worsted weight I'll end up with 184 sts whereas with the dk version I'd end up with 204. I'm stuck.....I know its a shawl and all but I'm wanting to use up the yarn the best way plus I don't want to run out which with either way I go I shouldn't because I bought enough yardage. Have I totally confused you? I've totally confused myself with this! I shouldn't have found that little blurb in the pattern about the gauge and I'd still be knitting merrily away! Let me know what ya'll think!!!Monday, June 8, 2009

Fun Times...
Jimmy started his birthday with some yummy donuts his daddy went and got and a surprise cd inside a donut bag of SUM 41! We listened to this as we went to the movies and saw Night at the Museum 2 (which was a great movie!) After the movie we went to Vinces's Pasta and Pizza which is similar to a Chuck E. Cheese. He had a great time there playing all the games and eating pizza! He won a cool yo-yo, some airplanes and army men!
His Grandma Doe Doe and Papa surprised him with this cake that they'd put in the fridge for him to find when he got back from all his fun excursions! He inhaled it!! I don't even think he tasted it he ate it sooooo fast!:)
